We have been providing Live Bee Removal and Relocation services for the The Big Country for 20 years. We are State registered beekeepers with three apiaries, one in Callahan, Jones and Taylor counties.
Our goal is to save feral honey bees as well as our local Bumblebees. All colonies saved are taken to one of our sanctuaries where they are taken care of, allowing them to continue to service our local ecosystem.
It’s now 2022 and this drought has taken it’s toll on the feral Honey Bee populations along with a loss of local honey. For three years we have lost 25% of our colonies and honey production has dropped 60%.
That is just our yards, others across the Nation have lost more. I bring this up because we need all the pollinator species to bring forth food.

Major causes of Honey Bee declines is caused by pesticide use. We see it all the time, we get calls to remove bees and when we show up they are dead, killed by those residential mosquito sprayers.
They claim this joe spray is safe and natural but it contains a synthetic pyrethroids that when sprayed on open flowers kill pollinators. Joes formula (knowingly or not) contains essential oils of lemon grass and bergamot that we beekeepers use to call swarms of bees to empty hives.
Even the Federal warning label on says do not spray on open flowers, yet they do it all the time. Not considering that they are killing our pollinators that keep us alive.
