You can’t get stunning colors like that with out Honey Bees. Yet, some scientist say we do not need Honey Bees to maintain today’s ecosystem.
There just is not enough native Bees to do the job we need done. Let’s take San Diego for example.
This is what San Diego looked like early in its settling. A barren wasteland without any Bees, native or honey.
Covered in mostly grasses, Oaks and the occasional cactus San Diego had not much to desire, well except the coastline. Of course just about anything would grow there, San Diego had fertile ground and the perfect amount of rain.
As more people moved in they began some AG and they brought Honey Bees with them. The whole area changed as if overnight.

The following is my summary of a study from the University of California dated Jan. 10, 2018.
A study of our natural ecosystem, mainly conducted by biologist proves the global importance of Honey Bees. Noting that globally there are over ten thousand other pollinator species.
With all these other pollinators the Honey Bee is the work force of the Planet, pollinating more non agricultural plants than any other pollinator.
Keng-Lou James Hung, lead the study as a graduate of UC San Diego pronounces Honey Bees the most successful pollinator on Earth.
